Alexander Snape is a composer and sound engineer based in his studio in North Wales.
His diverse skillset allows him to compose, produce, record, mix and master a variety of productions across different projects.
An experimentalist at heart, Alexander continually seeks innovative and expressive ways to infuse creativity into the music he composes.
As a composer, sound designer and mix engineer, he has implemented and delivered his music and sound design in Dolby Atmos for film as well as using Unity and Wwise for video games, where he composed music for both horizontal and vertical resequencing.
As a recording and mastering engineer, Alex collaborated with playwrights Bella Wright and Carleigh McRitchie to create the soundtrack for THE GARDENING CLUB, a musical which premiered in the WEST END and is nominated for “Best Music” alongside several other nominations for the Fringe Theatre Awards.
Alex’s other collaborations has seen him record, mix and master various projects for musicians, helping them realise their vision and achieve thousands of streams across streaming platforms.
As a composer and producer, he has supported local businesses with music for their commercial and portfolio material. Enhancing their brand and ensuring they’re happy at each stage of a production.
Alexander was the winner of the 2023 SENNHEISER SCHOLARSHIP to attend THE LIVERPOOL INSTITUTE FOR PERFORMING ARTS (LIPA) where he graduated with a FIRST-CLASS DEGREE in SOUND TECHNOLOGY (BAHons).
Internationally, he has solo-travelled to South America to field record a vast array of sounds and takes inspiration from both natural and man-made sound in the music he creates.
He believes, “It’s always important to listen – really listen – to how every sound makes someone feel, even the most mundane. Music is more than a piano or a violin; it’s the organised intention of sounds to create an emotion and tell a story.”
